Under direction of the Chief Information Officer, the IT Assistant Division Head is responsible for performing administrative, operational and supervisory work required in the development, budgeting, organization, and leading of technology initiatives and strategy of the Information Technology Division.

Examples of Work
- Maintain current knowledge of technology functions and procedures.
- Assist in leading technology project teams and their needed resources.
- Conduct and lead teams for research on system products, services, protocols, and standards in support of technology procurement and development efforts.
- Develop and contribute to communications for division staff and executive leadership.
- Be innovative and adaptable to emerging technologies.
- Assist with the delegation of work tasks and ensure follow-through in support of Division initiatives.
- Assist Chief Information Officer in supervising and mentoring a staff of professional, technical, and clerical personnel.
- Perform administrative work involving personnel manpower needs, budgeting and other activities necessary to the operation of the Information Technology Division.
- Review operating procedures and recommend changes.
- Complete necessary paperwork regarding supervisory and work activities.
- Assist in recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all IT staff in accordance with budgetary objectives and personnel policies.
Minimum Requirements
Education and experience : The educational equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer information systems, business or organizational management or related field. Experience in a technology, business or organizational management capacity. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience managing personnel or projects involving information technology or cybersecurity programs, developing and maintaining effective working relationships, making formal and informal information presentations, participating in short- and long-range IT business and organizational planning, including developing and implementing policies and procedures, and successfully delivering and continuously improving IT services.
Knowledge, skills and abilities : Must be customer-centric and enjoy working with others. Must be able to multi-task and have good time management and organization skills. Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated technical or business documentation ability. Well-developed sense of urgency and follow-through. Must be able to maintain a positive attitude. Must have high integrity and be of strong moral character.
Physical requirements : Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to operate motor vehicles for Department business.
Working conditions : Ability to work after-hours and on-call for routine and emergency maintenance. This position involves periods of sitting in front of a computer and working alongside Department personnel. This position must be flexible to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
Licenses, registrations and certifications : Valid driver’s license. Relevant professional certifications, such as MCSA / MCSE, ITIL, Cisco, VmWare etc. preferred.
