TITLE: Associate, Warehouse
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Warehouse
About the Role
Warehouse Associates are essential to Thistle's operations, ensuring seamless inventory, shipping, and receiving functions. This role is responsible for delivering products to various departments within the facility, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting the production process with efficiency and precision.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- Receive, organize, and store materials accurately, maintaining up-to-date records of movements and stock levels. Conduct weekly inventory assessments and ensure FIFO rotation for perishables.
- Pull and prepare materials for production, monitor ingredient use, pre-batch items, and weigh, label, and package products with complete accuracy.
- Verify product quality upon receipt, document food waste, and notify management of quality concerns. Collaborate with Quality Assurance and management to address issues promptly.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move and stage materials.
- Communicate with vendors to manage pickups, returns, and order shortages. Collaborate with Procurement and leadership to resolve supply chain challenges.
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations during all inventory activities.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot inventory issues and support operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned in the plant.
Qualifications
Who You Are
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, as is a minimum of 2 years of warehouse receiving experience, preferably in a high-volume food production environment.
- Ability to work in cold environments, including freezers, and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Proficient in using tools such as scales, box cutters, and hand tools. Familiarity with food product materials and GMP manufacturing practices is preferred.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Capable of managing batch requirements and working under tight deadlines.
- State-designated Food Handlers Certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
