POSITION SUMMARY
The Trainer position will directly support up to 7 production technicians with training, technical needs, and production assistance. This hourly employee reports directly to the Production Supervisor.
MAJOR DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
· Inspects and measures assembled work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
· Trains, oversees, and assists in machine startup.
· Conducts routine safety and equipment inspections.
· Trains technicians on how to record proper operating and material information for production.
· Trains technicians on proper operation of equipment and changeovers.
· Assists technicians during machine changeovers.
· Performs housekeeping to maintain production and operations in neat and orderly condition.
· Participates in problem solving to make necessary equipment repairs or process corrections to maintain required production quality and volume.
· Provides production or operation support as directed by supervisor or other management.
· Tracks training progress of new technicians
· Performs component and finished goods material handling when needed.
· Responds and dispositions Red Alarms.
· Assists in removal and disposal of shavings.
· Conducts Observation Reports at required frequency.
· Fills in for absent technicians when necessary.
· In the absence of the team leader, the trainer will serve as backup person.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
· As a minimum, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Minimum of one year of employment at TRNA or direct hire based on past experience.
· Working knowledge of Kaizen activities.
· Able to use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and various other measurement tools required for the job.
· Ability to explain and do all start-up, equipment, and Pokayoke checks.
· Ability to understand and explain all processes and inspection checks.
· Ability to understand and explain lot control and other parts tracking.
· Ability to show proper use of gages and equipment and recommend gage training.
· Understands production reporting and flow of communications
· Ability to do all tool changes, tool sets, and adjustments.
· Understands basic KPIs such as Operational Availability, PPH, and Scrap PPM.
· Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
· Ability to use sound judgment and reasoning.
· Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
· Able to troubleshoot using standard TRNA problem solving tools.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.49 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
