What You’ll Do
- Register the company in AIA and other organizations influencing specifications
- Develop education program such as Lunch & Learns
- Organize seminars and participate in promotion events (World of Facades, Façades , AIA, CSI, etc.)
- “Tie up” business for specific projects.
- Connect stakeholders and influencers to decision makers across all parts of the specification process, from architects to metal roofing manufacturers.
- Organize education sessions at trade shows (IRE, Frame Builders, Metacon).
- Be a knowledge expert with respect to understanding customer businesses and collaborate with other key internal partners (Technical Service, Lab, R&D, Finance, Supply Chain) to improve the overall customer experience provided by the company.
- Serve as the customer's final guarantee by ensuring that outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner and to the customer's complete satisfaction.
- Focus on leading indicators of new business. Increase the number of sales calls, customer agreements and increase trial activity to grow new business.
- Travel up to 80%
The Profile
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent / relevant work experience.
- 5 years experience in specification-driven sales in the construction market, selling to all influencers and stakeholders including the A&D community. You have won competitively held business and increased market share – this is the CORE REQIREMENT.
- Prior coil coating, pre-painted metal, or other coating or metal experience strongly preferred.
- Strong relating (overcoming no trust) and discovery (overcoming no need) skills.
- Time and Territory Management – you stay on track without supervision and maximize the time management to increase the number of sales calls on prospects and current customers.
- Internal Stakeholders - Demonstrated ability to work effectively and communicate/cooperate within one's own organization to generate support from internal stakeholders to obtain information/resources needed to move projects forward.
- Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a tactful and professional demeanor.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the proven ability to identify market trends and opportunities.
- Trustworthiness, integrity, manageable ego and a good sense of humor are all essential!
- Willing to travel up to 80% .
- Located NYC or near other major airport with easy access to key customers/influencers.
