POSITION SUMMARY

This position reports to the Sr. Director of Grants and Planning. This position develops government and foundation proposals which are aligned with the agency mission, vision and strategic direction. Engages in researching, identifying and writing funding proposals and reports for foundations and corporations as well as local, state and federal government funding sources. Assists in developing plans for program start up for new funding, including plans for data collection and analysis for program performance measurement.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and new programs consistent with the mission, vision and strategic direction.
  • Provide timely advice and information on funding opportunities, requirements, and procedures; collaborate in defining and implementing program funding strategies.
  • Prepare and coordinate the writing and timely submission of grants and proposals to local, state, and federal agencies; corporations, and private foundations.
  • Upload grant proposals and reports into various funder portals
  • Work with program and finance staff to coordinate report submission to foundations.
  • Provide a high level of customer service through the formation of good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, excellent communication, creative problem resolution, and timely and comprehensive follow-through of assigned duties
  • Work collaboratively with program and finance staff to develop quality grant proposals.
  • Identify system or process problems; and engage members of the finance department and programs in problem-solving.
  • Assists in developing plans for program start up for new funding, including plans for data collection and analysis for program performance measurement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate degree in Human Services, MA in Public Policy, or MPH preferred. A minimum of five years of experience with emphasis on program planning, grant writing, program evaluation and new program development.

Successful track record in researching, identifying and submitting public and private grant applications which receive funding.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in collecting data from secondary sources and compiling agency data to substantiate need or agency ability to achieve good outcomes.
