Reports to – Superintendent
Role Purpose
As a Superintendent , you will ensure the overall daily supervision of field operations. This includes but is not limited to supervision of all field operations team members, ensuring a safe work environment, efficiently managing the planning and scheduling, cost control, quality control, coordination of subcontractors, as well as providing the highest level of excellence in construction services.
Responsibilities
Securing a job site office, dry storage facilities, and sanitary facilities including water and electric service.
Review and be familiar with contract documents, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.
Maintain and submit daily paperwork; timecards, field reports, schedule updates, RFIs and E-mail correspondence.
Conduct pre-construction meetings with all subcontractors prior to beginning each phase of work; ensure adherence to Thomas standards of workmanship and plan of work.
Managing the project schedule and communicating any changes to all affected parties.
Ensuring all crews are adhering to Thomas safety policies and procedures.
Conduct and / or attend pre-construction, progress and other project and staff meetings.
Reviewing project progress, cost reports, schedules and requirements for completion.
Utilize all available technology to track progress and keep self and team informed.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, or other related field.
3-5 years of experience with combined internship, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent role with a previous general contactor.
Ground up construction experience.
Demonstrated understanding of building processes and systems.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.
Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor styles to match the audience.
Must be able to travel.
Physical Requirements / Work Requirements & Environment
Physical ability to walk site throughout the day, climb permanent and temporary stairs, use construction personnel hoists, climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally lifting and / or moving up to 50 lbs.
