Pay: $19.00 - $21.00/hour depending on experience
Full-Time; Monday- Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm; no nights or weekends

The Cook is responsible for preparing food orders for employees and contractors at Blue Cross of Idaho. They also will perform short order cooking, using established culinary techniques in the preparation of standard menu items. Work also includes maintaining par stocks, ordering supplies, rotating products for maximum quality, and minimizing waste during the flow of food preparation. All food-handling and preparation activities are performed in accordance with external and internal safety and sanitation standards and related regulatory guidelines. Our Cooks are accountable for the quality of the food prepared.

Responsibilities
- 1 years cooking/restaurant experience preferred
- Ensures all food is produced in high quality, timely and consistent manner to meet all menu and customer standards
- Ability to develop a rapport with customers
- Sets up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
- Cooks menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Follows Chef's instructions at all times
- Follows proper techniques and proper presentation for all dishes
- Practices correct food handling and food storage procedures according to company and state regulations
- Complies with all nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations and standards
- Maintains a positive, respectful, professional approach, communication, and workplace conduct with team members
- Reports all unsafe working conditions, operational needs, and equipment or aspects of the kitchen in need of repair to management
- Walk and stand during the entire shift
- The team member is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequent washing of hands
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and lifting
- Able to work in a hot, damp, and fast-paced environment
- Must be able to read and understand MSDS sheets and labels on chemicals
- knowledge and practice of workplace safety policies
- Ability to interact and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and guests
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and situations
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- ServSafe certification preferred
