Our firm is expanding! Thomas, Drohan, Waxman, Petigrow & Mayle, LLP (www.tdwpm.com), located in the Hudson Valley region of New York, is seeking an associate attorney for our growing law firm.
Our firm offers a multitude of management-side legal services to educational, municipal and private clients throughout the Hudson Valley area. Our firm has been representing school districts, higher education institutions, public libraries, municipalities and private employers for decades.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing general counsel in a variety of subject areas, including, but not limited to, labor and employment; special education; discrimination, harassment and bullying; Title IX, student and employee discipline; Freedom of Information Law; business issues; and public construction projects
- Handling administrative hearings, client trainings, litigation, and union negotiations
- Direct client contact
- Travel to client meetings throughout the Hudson Valley from our office in Hopewell Junction, NY (no overnight travel required)
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years’ experience
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to the New York bar
- Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
- Experience in labor, employment, municipal and/or education law a plus
Salary range for 1-5 years’ experience: $80,000-$120,000 depending on experience with full benefits package offered and profit sharing.
