Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in the general practice of law, primarily personal injury, estate planning, probate, and guardianship. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents and correspondence related to various cases.
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles to support case preparation.
- Manage and organize case files using Document Management System.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information for cases.
- Maintain calendars for attorneys, scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings.
- Prepare initial draft of legal documents for attorney review.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
- Provide administrative support such as filing, copying, and scanning documents.
Skills
- Prior law firm experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively gather information from clients and witnesses.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
