We are looking for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to join our growing business. This position will serve as a strategic business partner to functional leaders across the organization, providing financial analysis to enhance visibility, decision-making and prioritization.
A comprehensive understanding of petroleum industry, accounting, finance, operations, and relevant inputs are required. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities from a multi-disciplined team and will be expected to adapt to the business needs in various capacities.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives
- Present findings in clear and concise formats to facilitate executive team decision-making
- Track and analyze the performance of investments, generating insightful reports using relevant business software
- Identify trends and potential risks to inform investment decisions.
- Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks associated with investments and spending decisions
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company's financial health including review of JIB and revenue data for inconsistencies relative to expected outcomes
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Generate and analyze Lease Operating Statements (LOS)
- Develop and track key performance indicators to measure business success
- Review and track Joint Interest Billings
- Review and track revenues from operating partners
- Review and track product differentials by area and operator
- Build and support Excel tools for tracking and reporting
- Provide accurate cash forecasts on a weekly basis
- Build and own corporate model, updating monthly through collaborating with engineering and finance
- Coordinate internal and external accounting resources to meet reporting objectives
- Prepares monthly reporting package to review business / finance operations and variance to budget analysis
- Review and tracks AFE versus actual for wells
- Provides current cost trend analysis and support for new acquisition assumptions
- Provide support in preparing annual budget
- Develop presentations for Management and the Investment Committee
- Assist business development efforts through review of VDR LOS and accounting metrics
- Maintain LOS database incorporating internal and offset data
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Additional Desired Skills
Working knowledge of Access, SQL and or Power BI / Spotfire
