GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
1st Shift
The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of semi-skilled and/or skilled tasks in maintenance and repair of facilities equipment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic maintains the facility and equipment to a safe, high efficiency and quality level and contributes to the sites overall strategic direction. He/she conducts preventative maintenance on equipment and ensures the proper stock of parts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work safely and adhere to established safety principles and practices, including but not limited to PPE
Conduct walkthroughs of the building to note and complete any item needing attention regarding the overall condition of the building and equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment based on preapproved PM program
Aid in the install of new equipment
Maintain OSHA/corporate set guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for coworkers
Maintain equipment ensuring high quality production efficiency
Perform lockout/tagout procedures
Perform machinery repairs in a safe, efficient manner
Other assignments as required, within job scope and abilities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent GED; technical school a plus
3 – 5 years of related field experience and complete knowledge of all duties listed above
Mechanical mindset with ability to think outside the box
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to diagnose problems and find solutions
Ability to work in a fast paced, cold temperature environment
Experience working on processing machinery in the foodservice industry a plus
Ability to read wiring diagrams and parts breakdowns a plus
Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
Ability to work overtime, as warranted by business needs
Ability to work effectively in the absence of close supervision
Ability to operate a variety of vehicles and equipment in a safe and effective manner
Ability to work in a fast paced, cold temperature environment
Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International, USA
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
