Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters is hiring for Bakery/Food Production Manager!
Established in 1993 and known for our vibrant, positive culture and community engagement, Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters aims to be the leader in specialty coffee in the Inland Northwest. That's why - since we opened our first shop at the Northtown Mall in 1993 (it's still there!) - we roast all of the coffee served in our cafes. We also serve a wide variety of delicious foods made fresh in our own scratch bakery.
The Bakery/Food Production Manager role is a high-energy, motivated, detail-oriented, quality-focused team player, ready to join a fantastic group of dedicated people who thrive on delivering excellent quality baked goods to Spokane and beyond!
Bakery/Food Production Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- managing production crew of 4-8 workers in a team-based environment
- scheduling and logging productions
- managing procedures and paperwork to ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- monitoring ingredient and finished-product inventory levels, as well as ordering ingredient & packaging material
- training, coaching, & supervising bakery/food production team
- scratch baking cookies, scones, breads, etc.
- preparation of ready-to-eat sandwiches & burritos
- packaging finished product
- daily cleaning/sanitizing of production equipment & facilities maintenance
- Following recipes and presentation specifications
- Developing recipes and refining techniques & systems to reduce waste and find efficiencies
- maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques
Bakery/Food Production Manager requirements:
- WA Food Handler Permit required (within 7 days of hire)
- bakery/food production employees stand for prolonged periods and must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- baking experience (required)
- food preparation experience (required)
- supervisory experience (required)
- proficient in reading & understanding recipes and assembly instructions
- ability to learn new systems and/or experience with Microsoft Office 365, NetSuite, etc.
- track record of reliability and punctuality
This is a full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week
Bakery production hours are currently Sunday-Thursday 6am to 2pm but will be expanding soon
Bakery/Food Production Manager salary @ $22-$24 per hour
