TRANSPORTATION DESIGN ENGINEER IN TRAINING

Thomas & Hutton has an opening for an experienced Designer to join our Transportation Department in our Buford, GA Office.
- Working at the direction of a Professional Engineer, prepare construction drawings, layouts, and exhibits in accordance with GDOT Plan Presentation Guide & Electronic Data Guidelines, and/or SCDOT plan preparation guide.
- Make geometric calculations and estimate construction quantities using CADD tools.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- Qualified candidates will have experience using Microstation in the preparation of roadway plans using GDOT and/or SCDOT criteria.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience: 2 years of experience in the field Transportation/Roadway Design
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. EIT Certification preferred.
Skills:
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation V8, and Inroads or Geopak software applications.
- Previous experience with Microstation preferred.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- The ability to work a regular schedule of 730AM - 530PM Mon-Thurs and 730AM - 1130AM Fri including occasional evenings and weekends
- Proven ability to multi task, appropriately prioritize workflow and complete tasks
- Highly client service oriented, self-starter, and team player
- Ability to solve problems
- Excellent time management skills
