Job Description:
This position reports to the Gear/Grind Shop Supervisor. This position includes the use of Cincinnati R-55 OD grinding machines. The majority of the work will be small quantities and close tolerance. Applicant must be open to training on equipment he/she has not run before. We are looking for motivated individuals that have CNC thread grinding experience.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Skills and Essential Functions
Set up and run jobs on Cincinnati R-55 OD grinding machines
Meet and/or exceed stated production numbers
Position may require additional overtime as needed
Maintain Quality at the source documents
Assist in producing fixtures and tooling for the cell
Produce product after optimization process has taken place and complete to yield acceptable safety, quality, schedule and cost guidelines
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
Keep organized and thorough notes of machine settings and production specifications
Ability to adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction after communicating with Process Engineer Technician
Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by the supervisor/Manager as deemed appropriate
Knowledge
High School diploma or GED
Experience
CNC grinding experience is required
5 years of machining experience
Vast experience in metrology including calipers, micrometers, bench centers with indicators, height gages and optical comparators
Experience with manual machinery is preferred
Excellent attention to detail and willingness to approach difficult, small run projects
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and work instructions
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
