Job Description:
This position is for a Quality Technician located at our Boerne, TX location. The qualified candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting a variety of quality functions in the Quality Department. These functions include programming and operating Zeiss CMMs, performing hand tool inspections, preparing inspection reports consistent with company formats and offering technical support to quality, manufacturing and engineering personnel.
Knowledge
Vocational training or job-related course work preferred
5 years of related experience minimum
Experience measuring tight tolerance parts, aerospace components preferred
Experience with Aerospace Quality Systems preferred (AS9100)
Knowledge of Calibration standards, techniques, and software
Comprehensive knowledge of Geometry, Trigonometry, and GD&T
Ability to prioritize assignments to meet established goals and objectives.
Skills
The operator will create new/run existing programs with Zeiss/Calypso CMM measurement software and employ a CMM to verify parts.
Produce Inspection Reports utilizing various formats such as Zeiss/Calypso software, MS Excel, Inspection Xpert, and handwritten reports.
Properly use, read, and calibrate standard hand tools (calipers, micrometers, alignment gages, thread gages, etc.) to verify parts.
Able to read and interpret blueprints/drawings/specifications. Includes identifying characteristics, call-outs, notes, technical specifications, GD&T symbols.
Enthusiasm in pursuing a project, task, subject, or activity.

Ability to operate an electronic height gauge, optical comparator, profilometer, sine plate, and standard inspection tools used for dimensional inspection.
