Day In The Life
- Develop and implement logistics plans for construction projects, considering factors like site layout, material requirements, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth material flow and delivery schedules.
- Optimize the transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel to minimize delays and costs.
- Manage inventory levels and storage requirements, ensuring materials are readily available when needed
- Supervise the loading, unloading, storage, and transportation of materials and equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Manage site access and traffic flow, and parking to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments to the logistics plan as needed to address unforeseen issues or changes.
- Track material costs and ensure that logistics activities are within budget.
- Monitor trade partner performance and address any issues that may arise.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the logistics planning.
- Ensure that all logistics activities comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify any safety hazards.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential incidents.
- Develop strong relationships with all involved agencies to ensure strict policy compliance
- Work closely with all operations teams to ensure coordination and collaboration on material delivery needs across all active projects.
- Motivate and support staff to achieve project goals and maintain a positive work environment
- High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in construction logistics or a similar field.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, material handling, transportation, and warehousing.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
