THE ROLE: The Corporate Operational Finance Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the build out, maintenance, and preparation of period operational finance reports. This role will also develop and maintain reports related to operational budget reviews and maintenance, including proposing budget revisions and making budget revisions in HB1. This role will serve as a key player working across the Thomas James organization to bring visibility and insights into existing portfolio of assets and driving actionable insights.
Day In the Life
- Highly proficient in Excel with ability to learn/use company forecasting tools such as Vena and Power BI. Must have the ability to manipulate data quickly and effectively for Ad Hoc analysis
- Assist with lot budgets working closely with Divisional VPs of Finance.
- Assist Corporate team in preparation of monthly forecast process as well as annual business plan process and various scenario analysis.
- Prepare weekly lot budget review analysis and investigate various cost categories such as, Land Development, Purchasing, Construction, and Overhead and highlight areas of concern for team members to focus on cost controls and/or budget revisions.
- Support in building thoughtful reports in Vena and Power BI for better visibility for team members at both the corporate and divisional levels.
- Help with preparing reports, establishing processes, streamlining procedures, and promote continual process improvements.
- Ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Support requirements for Board meetings including presentation materials, and analysis.
- Meet deadlines and timing needs placed upon company from owners, lenders, and others, as necessary.
- Brings highly disciplined organization to financial scenarios and version control and tracking of history of external communications.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in finance and/or accounting is required
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
What Will Set You a Part

- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient at leveraging analytics, data, financial models, and insights to drive decision-making.
- Prior experience in FP&A, Public Accounting, Investment Banking, or equivalent
- Experience with Vena and/or Power BI
The compensation range for this role is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
