ICJS Assistant. The Foundation is home to the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies, which is devoted to Jefferson scholarship (defined broadly) and dissemination of research through lectures, seminars, and conferences. The Center also hosts scholars and teachers from around the world through its fellowship opportunities. ICJS is seeking an assistant to support its programs through administrative functions, working with visiting scholars, coordinating programs, promoting marketing and communication, and other tasks. The person hired will also assist with the planning and execution of lectures and conferences and other special events hosted by ICJS. The assistant will work under the direction of our staff historians and will have some flexibility in defining their own role. This position is ideal for a professional with an interest in early American history and/or public history. Ideal candidates will possess excellent computer skills, strong research and communication skills, and a professional demeanor. This is a temporary, FT one-year position with benefits.
