The Biomedical technician I is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, maintaining and verifying accuracy of all infusion delivery devices at Jefferson Home Infusion Service (JHIS). The Biomedical Technician I uses appropriate equipment and complies with policies and procedures, including infusion pump analyzers maintenance and inventory control electronic records.
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Cleaning and sanitizing infusion related equipment returned from patient use. Includes but not limited to ambulatory infusion pumps, related accessories and storage pouches.
- Maintains electronic inventory and preventative maintenance records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Performs diagnostic, functional and flow rate testing to assure infusion equipment is accurate and ready for patient use.
- Processing of biohazardous and chemotherapy waste for transport and destruction by third party vendors.
- Coordination with third party vendors to repair equipment that is beyond the scope of the biomedical technician.
- Coordination with JHIS staff to facilitate return of equipment from patients.
- Day to day oversight of part time bio medical technician staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Biomedical training that includes a minimum of 100 hours
