PRIMARY FUNCTION : Serves as financial analyst for the Jefferson College of Life Sciences (JCLS) Center City as related to tracking and monitoring financial activity and budget performance, processing financial requests, generating financial reports, coordinating funding and processing of student fellowships and awards, timekeeping for staff, students & adjunct instructors, and other designated activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Prepares and processes College¿'s requests for expenditure of funds and interdepartmental transfers. Assists Director of Finance in monitoring College¿'s financial performance, budget variance analysis, and budget forecasting. Reviews financial accounts, reconciles account activity on a monthly basis, and follows up as needed to troubleshoot / correct any discrepancies. Maintains system for funding and tracking of student fellowships, assistantships and academic awards. Processes fellowship tuition, stipend, and health insurance payments and changes to funding sources. Facilitates approvals of these funding sources. Posts fellowship / scholarship awards to students¿¿ accounts in Banner, and coordinates charging of funding accounts with Tuition & Cashier¿'s Office. Prepares and issues annual award letters. Serves as timekeeper for staff employees, adjunct faculty instructors, and teaching assistants of JCLS. Serves as timekeeper for JCLS students, and processes stipend payments through payroll and accounts payable systems. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University. OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES : Works with academic programs to process payments to course instructors through payroll and accounts payable systems, track payments to semester budgets, and issue instructor agreements on semester basis. Assists Director of Finance in preparation of annual budgets for College. Serves as cardholder of College¿'s procurement credit card, processes approved payments, and reconciles activity on monthly basis. Provides assistance to student and trainee organizations in processing financial requests and monitoring activity against approved budgets. Prepares reports on revenues, expenses, endowment accounts, and fellowship funding Liaises with Controller¿'s Office, Tuition and Cashier¿'s Office, SKMC Departments, Research Administration Center of Excellence (RACE), Office of Research Administration (ORA), Materials Management, and other offices of the University as related to financial matters. Performs other duties as required. EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor¿'s degree in accounting / finance or business related area EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of two years¿¿ experience involving financial or budgetary analysis. Demonstrated experience using computerized financial information systems, spreadsheets, timekeeping, etc. EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor¿'s degree in accounting / finance or business related area EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of two years¿¿ experience involving financial or budgetary analysis. Demonstrated experience using computerized financial information systems, spreadsheets, timekeeping, etc.
