The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Enrollment Strategy and Engagement provides strategic leadership and management in the recruitment and enrollment of first-year, transfer, graduate, and international students by developing and executing a wide range of demand generation and yield strategies for the University.
Leveraging technology, data, staff talent, budgetary resources, internal collaborations, and external vendor partnerships, the AVP is responsible for enrollment strategy & engagement across two main campuses and multiple satellite locations where the portfolio of academic programs spans all enrollment levels (first-year, transfer, graduate, certificate, etc.) and 12 Colleges / Schools.
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Strategic Planning : Work in collaboration with the VP of Enrollment Management on the strategic vision for the division. Provide strategic leadership for the University in efforts related to generating and converting applicants throughout the enrollment funnel. This will include engagement of and coordination across University Marketing, Academic Deans, Jefferson Enrollment Management, and external strategy partners to identify and implement best and emerging practices.
- Enrollment Strategies & Tactics : Develop and execute plans designed to generate prospects, applications, visits, and deposits across all enrollment levels for the University's 180 academic programs; these plans will account for a diverse set of needs across a complex set of application pools.
- Technology (Slate CRM) : Provide strategic, technical, and analytical leadership in the use of the Slate technology platform. Demonstrate significant technical understanding and skill within the system.
- Communications : Oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of complex communication plans that drive action throughout the admissions funnel. These plans will utilize all available communication platforms and mediums (print, electronic, text messaging, digital and social media) and account for a complex set of needs across diverse application pools.
- Events / Visit Centers : Design and implement the event strategy including all engagement methods (in-person, virtual, on-demand, off-campus); this will include over 100 events per year with large-scale events for up to 2,000 guests. Manage all visit centers as well as the daily visit programs.
- Ambassador Programs : Develop and manage student, parent, and alumni ambassador programs in support of new student recruitment and conversion.
- Influencer Campaigns : develop and execute plans designed to inform and engage parents, guidance counselors, advisors / recommenders, special interest groups, and alumni in the student recruitment process.
- Asset Development & Management : in collaboration with key strategy partners (University Marketing, external vendors), develop and manage assets used to generate demand for the University's academic programs (website, print, email, digital, video, etc.). Ensure that Jefferson Enrollment Management efforts promote and protect the Jefferson brand.
- Staff Management : manage employees assigned to the team (includes hiring, onboarding, training, performance management); serve as the point of contact in the absence of Sr. Associate Provost.
- Budget Management : strategically and responsibly manage the funds allocated to this function.
- Jefferson Enrollment Management Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Responsibilities : as a member of the JEM SLT, contribute to the overall management and leadership of the division and represent the division with all constituents.
