Nutrition Educator IIJob Description
The Nutrition Educator II provides nutrition education in clinical, community, and educational settings. This role serves individuals of all ages, ensuring that the educational content is appropriate for their functional and developmental needs.
A valid driver's license is required as the Nutrition Educator II is expected to travel within the Greater Philadelphia area and transport program materials. Flexibility is highly preferred as this position may require working afterhours.
* Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
* Collaborate with administrators, community organizations, and educators to support and enhance nutrition-related programs and initiatives
* Develop and implement educational materials, lessons, presentations, and workshops based on evidence-based interventions
* Document and report interventions in electronic systems
* Monitor and track participation to assess the effectiveness of programming and adjust as needed
* Participate in outreach events to promote healthy habits
* Be able to work in various settings including faith-based organizations, pantries, libraries, school sites, and residential neighborhoods
* Maintain detailed records of sessions, participant interactions, and program participation for reporting and compliance purposes
* Be able to communicate with people of various backgrounds
* Be able to lift at least 25 pounds
* Be able to work independently and within a team
* Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of nutrition science, dietary guidelines, and health promotion principles
- Knowledge of community health practices, public health nutrition, and culturally relevant dietary practices.
- Understanding of educational methods for delivering nutrition information effectively to various audiences
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for presenting nutrition information clearly and effectively to individuals and groups.
