Essential Functions

* Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
* Provides therapy treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning, for a full patient caseload in acute care, acute rehab, skilled facility, outpatient settings as appropriate.
* Aids in the instruction and assistance of patients practicing prescribed exercises and functional activities. Transports and safeguards patients to and from treatment areas.
* Participates in student education, orientation, and preceptorship of new/rotating staff.
* Demonstrates appropriate communication, professionalism and supervision of support staff (staff assistants, aides, volunteers).
* Maintains patient medical records and other paperwork in a physiotherapy department
* Supervises exercise programs, leads group exercises, documents appropriately (attendance, fees paid), and demonstrates knowledge of the specific needs relative to the safety of the participant.
* Supports department, per manager or supervisor, with ongoing departmental activities.
* Communicates impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to therapists, supervisors, and others as directed to insure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
PT: Associates Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
AND
Experience:
2 years of clinical practice required.
Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:
PT: Valid state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Indirect Supervision License. Must be CPR certified.
