Compensation :
- Pay range : $43,000-$56,000.00 / yr.
- Benefits : For employees contracted for 30 hours per week or more, Thomas MacLaren School pays for 100% of the employee's base insurance premiums (Health, Dental, Vision, Long-term and Short-term disability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance, and Life insurance) for the base level coverages. No benefits are provided to employees contracted for less than 30 hours per week.
General Purpose : To impart knowledge and learning skills to the children in his / her assigned class in a manner that meets professional standards while participating in the community of learners that is Thomas MacLaren School.

Attends mandatory Teacher Training Institute each summerDelivers Thomas MacLaren curriculum as chargedWorks with the Head of Lower School and teacher trainers to learn curriculum and methodology of courses assignedPlans long-term as well as short-term objectives of instructionUses a variety of appropriate teaching strategies, instructional materials / activities, and teaching modes to accommodate a variety of learning stylesIncorporates interventions and accommodations deemed necessary by the Head of Lower SchoolFollows guidelines for students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 planDemonstrates sound professional teaching and classroom management skills to facilitate learningMaintains an appropriate and safe learning environmentTeacher / Student Relationships
Enforces school policiesMaintains discipline and good order in the classroom, in cooperation with the Head of Lower SchoolProvides students with constructive feedback about their work in a timely manner according to MacLaren standardsEncourages students to strive for high achievementEncourages and equips students to become the agents of their own educationAssists with Student Orientation and its implementation in the classroomActs as an effective monitor of students when on duty (before, during, or after school, including lunch and recess)Teacher / Parent Relationships
Provides frequent and effective feedback concerning attainment of learning goals to parentsInitiates communication with parentsEncourages parents to visit the classParticipates in biannual parent-teacher evaluation conferencesTeacher / Staff Relationships

Minimum Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience : Demonstrated ability to serve well as Thomas MacLaren teacher.
Teaching License not required. Applicants must hold either
