The Window & Door Service Technician role is generally responsible for service and repair work on products the company sells. Customer service is a key aspect of this role. We strive to ensure everything we sell works as it should and solve any issues our customers are experiencing. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical/engineering ability, high attention to detail, strong communication and problem-solving skills. This individual will initially work alongside a current service technician for training.
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Communication– There is a fair amount of autonomy in this role and as such, effective communication is vital. This includes communication with other team members across the organization, customers, and vendors. The individual in this role will play a part in scheduling service calls with customers and relaying any changes to them as well. Will also need to be comfortable communicating with clients about repairs, timelines and operation of products.
Performing Service Calls – The Individual will be responsible for making service calls to customer homes in order to inspect and resolve issues. The ability to deal with customers in a professional manner with a sharp focus on service is essential.
Warranty Claim Management – The individual will be responsible for navigating warranty claims with our vendors and tracking replacement parts. This also includes tracking parts/products in our warehouse.
Installation – While limited, Service Technicians will assist in the installation of certain products sold to customers or during the scope of repair/warranty work. Proper installation is essential to ensuring products work as intended.
Travel – As this is a service position, the candidate can expect to spend a reasonable about of time traveling to various job sites around northern Michigan. While travel is frequent, there is no overnight travel required.
