Medical Office Manager
We are seeking a dynamic individual who wants an exciting role within a concierge-style medical practice. The office operates a variety of healthcare practices; these practices provide services that contribute to whole-person wellness. We are seeking an experienced medical office manager with a desire for professional growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Manages daily operations of the practice while maintaining a professional workplace
- Schedules and coordinates patient appointments to optimize client satisfaction and facility efficiency
- Develops, implements, and maintains office policies and procedures
- Maintains and manages all filing and organizational systems for the practice
- Ensures staffing is appropriate for day-to-day operations
- Assists in special projects
- Verifies patient insurance
- Oversees and establishes billing procedures and records daily visits
- Prepares Bank deposit statements
- Prepares bills with medical coding
- Ensures regulatory compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Interviews, hires, and trains a productive medical office team and conducts performance reviews
- Promotes excellent customer service by all levels of the staff
- Ensures patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint and developing process improvements to prevent recurrences
- Maintains patient portal and directs practice reports
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Superb customer service skills
- Knowledge of regulations related to Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance
- Human resources experience in hiring, supervision and performance reviews
- Knowledge of HIPAA and labor law
- Knowledge of WORD, EXCEL
- Skill in writing policies and procedures
- Skill in using healthcare software and computer systems
- Experience of medical coding
- Knowledge of maintaining supplies and equipment for the medical setting
- Multitasking skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Professional communication and presentation skills, including face to face, email, telephone and video conference
Experience Requirements:
2-3 Years in a supervisory or management position at a healthcare practice
Minimum of 3 years in a medical office setting
