The Accounting Manager oversees financial operations, assists with the management of accounting teams, prepares financial reports and reconciliations and ensures compliance with accounting standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete complex general ledger account reconciliations and follow-up on any unusual items
- Prepares assigned monthly closing general ledger entries and ad hoc entries as needed
- Assists in review of staff journal entries and reconciliations
- Partner with Assistant Controller/Controller on annual audit activities
- Assist in the overseeing of daily operations in the accounting department
- Ensure that proper accounting policies, and procedures are followed by accounting department
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet and income statement) for significant variances from prior year and budget
- Assist in streamlining processes and creating efficiencies
- Spearhead projects related to accounting, banking and AP
- Supervise, train and mentor accounting staff
- Perform other related duties, as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- BS in accounting or related field; MBA or CPA preferred but not required
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment; public or private equity experience preferred
- Experience with acquisitions and intercompany transactions preferred
- Experience in a multiple company general ledger environment preferred
- General ledger system integration/conversion experience helpful
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with various reporting requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to working with a diverse staff
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position supervises a small team of accounting staff.

Compensation:
This position is a full-time, exempt role with a competitive salary and potential annual bonus of 10% of base salary.
