Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and assessing the health and progress of mother and baby during labor and delivery
- Assisting with and providing support during the birthing process
- Administering medications and anesthesia as needed
- Performing emergency interventions as necessary
- Providing education and support to new mothers and families
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create individualized care plans
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of patients at all times
- Documenting patient information and maintaining accurate records
- Adhering to healthcare regulations and guidelines
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives
- Adapting to different healthcare settings and working effectively in diverse environments
- Provides direct patient care and advocacy
- Assist with newborn assessment and care
- May serve as preceptor and resource to less experienced staff
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and contributing to patient care planning
- Active CA RN license
- At least 3 years of labor and delivery nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Willing to float to post Partum/Nursery,Circulate,Triage,AWHONN Advanced,BCLS,Unit Systems:Omnicell,Epic,SBAR
- Strong understanding of fetal monitoring technology and techniques
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively in diverse settings
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Familiarity with evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives
- Commitment to patient advocacy and support
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Strong ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations
- Knowledge of current labor and delivery practices and guidelines
