Role
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the loan operations department. Provide quality service to customers while servicing mortgage, consumer and commercial loans. Has oversight over insurance tracking, processing charge-offs & recoveries, new and renewed loan file reviews, file scanning, responses to loan inquiries. Responsible for supervising, coaching and providing guidance and training to department members. This position may be designated as a dual employee of the Thomaston Mortgage Services Passive Investment Company (PIC) and may be required to participate in the annual PIC time study.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate. Train staff for system enhancements and procedure changes.
Review loan files to ensure complete documentation according to company and regulatory standards. Follows up on exceptions to complete file. Audit set up of loans on the loan operations system.
Research, resolve and respond to customer disputes. Write correspondence to loan clients as needed.
Responsible for complex loan structures such as participation, bought and sold loans, master lines, forbearances and escrow analysis.
Manages the monthly MILAR and SBA 1502 reporting for loans with PMI or an SBA guarantee.
Assists in creation, implementation and regular review of all departmental procedures.
Process full and partial charge-off transactions to commercial, residential and consumer loans.
Assists in preparing for all internal and external audits.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
