What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician position at Thomasville Eye Center?
Our Thomasville Eye Center location is actively recruiting an ophthalmic technician and/or ophthalmic assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an outstanding patient experience while gathering important patient medical history and performing diagnostic testing in preparation for the doctors’ examination.
· Performs essential diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, manual refraction, topography, basic manual lensometry, tonometry, OCT, IOL Master, and Visual Field
· Captures ocular and systemic history and accurately records visual acuity
· Administer topical medical or oral medication under direction of the physician
· Assist with patient education
· May function as a scribe for ophthalmologists and/or optometrists
This position requires an energetic and reliable individual who enjoys working as a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an outstanding patient experience while gathering patient history and performing diagnostic testing. Technicians are responsible for ensuring exam rooms are sanitized and adequately stocked with medical supplies.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience in the medical field is preferred.
