What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Brake Operator position at Thompson Fabrication, LLC?
Summary
Operate shear, rolls, press brake and ironworker to pre fabricate all containers. Cut and form all steel used as needed. Unload trucks in a timely manner. This department has 2 people and they must work together.
Essential Job Function:
- Read and understand the production schedules.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Must be able to lift & carry up to 65 #
- Must be able to operate over head crane.
- Cut material needed for production well in advance to needing it.
- Tailgates, front ends, etc. as per schedules.
- Cut and roll/bend side sheets as per schedules.
- Bend post material well in advance and keep standard post ahead at all times.
- Bend rear post in advance.
- Bend push plates and keep in stock.
- Cut all special parts well in advance and have them where they need to when needed.
- Keep all gussets and end caps stocked at all times.
- Keep chain cut and at tailgate table.
- Tarp hooks cut and in stock at all times.
- Unload trucks with flat sheet steel in a timely manner.
- Make sure all steel corresponds with packing slip.
- Keep all inventory steel on racks and in neat fashion to make inventory easy.
- Keep all departments in material so they don’t run out.
- Obey all safety rules on each machine.
- When around the production area stop and lend a hand to someone when they could use it.
- Document all material used on daily basis and turn in inventory logs.
- Communicate with VP on inventory needs & quality of incoming inventory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
