Thompson Pipe Group is currently hiring for an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineer that is responsible for designing production layouts and processes with the purpose of increasing productivity, eliminating wastefulness, reducing costs, and ensuring quality standards are maintained. This position will monitor current operations and determine more efficient production processes; design systems that maximize productivity, reduce wastefulness and production issues, are cost-efficient and ensure high product quality.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for implementing strategy and guiding advancement of Operational Excellence
- Work closely with Production Managers, Quality Managers, and other site personnel to understand business priorities and goals, using this insight to prioritize Continuous Improvement initiatives at the production location.
- Be a role model for the Mindsets and Behaviors necessary to create an environment of trust, participation and accountability.
- Consult with Regional and other OPEX Managers to identify best practices and to simplify and standardize work to deliver improved performance.
- Actively review site practices to identify opportunities and advise on appropriate organizational interventions (i.e. training, coaching, etc.) for improving site systems and practices to achieve desired outcomes.
- Guide locations in determining the priorities for process improvements that impact production and business results and champion waste elimination and reduction.
- Build a coaching culture and provide individual coaching to site and above site leadership throughout the change and transformation process.
- Monitor Improvement progress and sustain transformational gains over time through continued metric review and consultation with key stakeholders.
- Lead Improvement Projects utilizing standardized OPEX tools and methods to improve plant performance and achieve results for operations customers. (Lead 5S initiatives and Kaizen events)
- Drive continuous improvement by applying Lean principles, practices, tools, consulting expertise, and change management processes.
- Use strong analytical and process mapping skills to collect data, analyze processes, and implement strategies for ongoing improvement.
- Analyze current processing practices and areas to foster continuous improvement and optimize production process efficiency.
- Build business cases for continuous improvement initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and presenting data that supports the proposed change.
- Develop and maintain cost control systems. Propose and institute cost reduction for ongoing and evolving projects.
- Manage engineered labor standards by conducting time studies, analyzing data, recommending changes, and overseeing the implementation process.
- Take ideas from concept to implementation while effectively communicating with all key stakeholders.
- Adhere to best practices for solving technical problems, such as step-by-step problem-solving methods, root cause analysis, and other techniques as appropriate.
- Provide support on all new projects or developing areas.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field required.
- Continue to pursue additional job-related specialized training through professional education programs.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as an engineer in the construction/industrial manufacturing industry or relevant work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving.
- Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent documentation, organization, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and scheduling software.
- Advanced computer skills are relevant to data management.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Ability to read and comprehend documented material, including tool drawings and technical information
- Experience in cost saving project development
- Experience with corrective action programs
- Experience interacting with and presenting
Education and Experience Requirements:
Core Skills:
- Written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills; ability to communicate complex ideas or translate data into understandable messaging.
- Understanding of system concepts, scheduling techniques, and methods.
- Advance ability to conduct multi-dimensional analysis – statical and logical functions, data validation, and estimates.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data, facts, and figures to draw conclusions for business case development.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data collection and analysis.

Hours: 10-12 per day, Monday- Friday
Pay: Weekly/Friday
From: $90,000-$100,000 annually
