Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager who will work within the Quality department and alongside Production Operations to ensure the highest level of quality for Thompson Pipe Group products. By providing leadership and oversight, the Quality Manager helps foster a culture of quality within the organization, ensuring that the company's products or services meet or exceed customer expectations. In this role, the Quality Manager will work closely with multiple departments across the facility, ensuring that all teams are aware of and adhere to the quality assurance requirements specific to each project. By maintaining a clear focus on safety, environmental compliance, and quality, the Quality Manager not only ensures the production of high-quality precast concrete products but also helps protect employees and the environment, while adhering to all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver quality control training programs to key personnel in collaboration with managers.
- Coordinate with managers to implement quality control training programs for key personnel.
- Address questions or concerns from contract personnel regarding drawings or details.
- Prepare plant for Caltrans and other facility audits.
- Conduct pre- and post-pour testing and troubleshoot issues during the mixing and pouring process as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Track sample fabrication
- Work with production daily on improving overall quality by communicating observations.
- Provide support to Engineering Department as required.
- Lead the quality assurance team in performing visual inspections of products, ensuring compliance with both internal and client standards.
- Establish, implement, and oversee quality control procedures across all operational areas to maintain consistency and uphold high-quality standards.
- Facilitate training sessions for QA team members to ensure consistency in audit practices and clear understanding of quality standards.
- Work closely with production, management, and corporate teams to align on quality goals and address any issues in a timely manner.
- Review and approve quality reports, ensuring accuracy and the integrity of data collected during audits and inspections.
- Ensure non-conforming products are accurately identified, retained, and handled according to company procedures, preventing their release until compliance is confirmed.
- Supervise the approval process for product packaging and finished goods to ensure they meet required specifications prior to shipment or distribution.
- Implement and enforce environment, health, and safety protocols as they relate to the QA function, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Provide continuous feedback and recommendations to improve processes and enhance quality control measures.
- Lead special quality projects as needed, driving improvements and operational excellence in collaboration with senior management.
- Ensure compliance with any additional or special quality assurance procedures required by project specifications.
- Perform other QC duties assigned by management.
- Develop and maintain quality standards
- Hold quarterly QC meetings (including Engineering & Production departments) to review quality issues/concerns
- Provide training for QA techs.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of concrete technology, welding, and nondestructive evaluation/testing (NDE/NDT).
- ACI certifications.
- Understanding and adhere to ASTM, ASSHTO, CalTrans, Local Agency Standards

- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Able to work with dust and outside environment conditions(i.e. rain, wind)
- Used to wearing earplugs and other PPE – such as a hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, and safety glasses as required.
**Must pass Pre-employment Physical and drug test.**
Work Hours
Monday-Friday; Occasionally Saturdays
( 10-12-hour shifts)
Pay: $95,000-$120,000
