What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tractor Trailer Driver position at Thompson Rents?
Essential Job Functions
- Basic safe machine operation & inspection
- Conduct and document daily vehicle inspections
- Maintain truck and driving log according to DOT Regulations
- Adhere to DOT and Company safety regulations and procedures
- Ensure preventive maintenance on truck is performed as required
- Load and unload truck cargo
- Properly secure truck cargo for transport
- Ensure proper documentation for cargo including MSDS for hazardous materials
- Follow 5-Star Contamination Control procedures
- Maintain clean, neat, and orderly truck
- Keep accurate records of all work
Experience
Required- Candidates for this position must possess strong mechanical aptitude. Individuals with prior experience hauling equipment and operating will be given stronger consideration. Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills are required for this position.
Education
Required- High School or Equivalent or better
