The Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to become a Golf Course Equipment Operator and join a talented team of professionals to help provide a safe, enjoyable, and qualify golf experience to the community. This position will perform emergency and routine landscape and grounds maintenance-orientated tasks for all areas associated with the golf course.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform turf management practices that are required to assure that the turf in assigned service areas meets the golf course standards for appearance and playability, including digging, mowing, edging, aerating, organic waste and debris removal, string trimming of grass around plants and structures, raking bunkers, and hand removal of weeds from turf areas.
- Assist in the daily maintenance of both golf course by operating walk behind mowers, power edgers, riding mowers, string trimmers, aerators, and backpack blowers.
- Assist in special tasks like mechanical, irrigation, and other duties assigned.
- Handle light equipment maintenance at the golf course.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, especially concerning equipment operation, reports unsafe conditions or accidents to the supervisors, and attend and participate in safety trainings. Contribute to a safe working environment for self, co-workers, and the public.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
- Promote positive customer service relations.
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of the game of golf, and the ability to learn policies, rules and regulations of the course.
- Knowledge of a variety of hand tools, including but not limited to hammers, shovels, rakes, brooms, power tools such as drills, saws, trimmers, chain saws, water pumps, and hand mowers.
- Knowledge of larger equipment including but not limited to riding mowers, tractors, backhoe, golf and work carts, district vehicles, dump truck, water truck, spraying equipment and other maintenance related equipment.
- Good oral communications skills.
- Ability to enforce and direct the public in policies, rules and regulations.
- Ability to work harmoniously with patrons and fellow employees.
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.

Environmental Considerations
While performing the duties of this job it may include periods of high activity noise levels from quiet to loud and exposure to hot and cold temperatures and lightening. Employees will be required to read safety data sheets and understand all safety precautions when handling chemicals or hazardous cleaning materials. Frequently work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.
