- The salary for Range 19 is $144,382 - $209,068
- The posted salary range is what an employee would expect to reach with longevity in the District. New employees would expect an offer between the beginning to midrange of the salary range depending on relevant experience.

SUMMARY
Responsible for advising the superintendent and school board on the financial and budget matters of the district. The chief financial officer prepares and administers the district budget, guides the development of long-term capital financing methods, directs and supervises all business / finance functions including, but not limited to, risk management budgeting, and grants management while adhering to district policies and procedures. Performs long and short-range planning, oversees special projects, provides analyses to support bond and mill levy elections, etc.

Serve on the superintendent's cabinet and leadership team.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING :
EXPERIENCE : Seven to ten years of experience in public sector financial management including supervisory responsibility and administration of governmental finance standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
DECISION MAKING : An example of a typical decision made by an individual in this position is providing financial projections or estimates on resources and expenditures. An incorrect decision made by this position could impact Board of Directors, Principals and staff trust causing them to operate exclusive of the finance department. It could require communication to resolve the situation. Errors made in decision making could potentially result in substantial embarrassment or cost to the District.
CONTACTS : Daily contact with classified and professional staff in the same or different department or school, administrative leadership team, to resolve routine internal matters, obtain information, furnish information, resolve routine corrections or adjustments, interpret policies and procedures, maintain relationships, recommend policies and negotiate controversial matters. Weekly contact with Board, state legislature or congressional staff, media, news or press to resolve routine internal matters, obtain information, furnish information, maintain relationships, recommend policies, negotiate controversial matters and determine critical policies. Monthly contact with advisory committees, students, parents, citizens or patrons, general public, vendors, contractors, engineers or developers, public agencies and local government to obtain information, furnish information, maintain relationships and determine critical policies. Annual contact with school support team to obtain information, furnish information and maintain relationships.
SUPERVISION : Directly supervises the following positions : Director of Finance, Manager of Accounting and Reporting, Senior Programming Specialist, Accounts Payable / Grant / Payroll Manager, Manager of Materials and Procurement, Executive Administrative Assistant for Business Services. Implements the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This position is responsible for the hiring process. In addition, this position is responsible for both budget development and accountability and responsible for the leadership of the Business Services Department.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
