What are the responsibilities and job description for the AREA RESERVATIONS MANAGER position at Thompson Seattle?
Summary
This position will lead the reservation process as it impacts revenue success at the hotel. Responsibilities include; monitoring/maintaining group reservations systems, involvement with hotel inventory, assisting with reservation related training, and attending hotel reservation related meetings. This position will support Thompson Palm Springs and Thompson Seattle reporting directly to the Area Director of Revenue Strategy. This is a great opportunity for the ideal candidate to grow into a Revenue Manager position.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the implementation of the hotel sales strategy and pricing recommendations across all channels Hyatt key revenue systems and market segments
- Assist with effectively managing and maintaining Hyatt revenue management systems including PRO, Reserve, Opera, RMT and Envision in accordance with Hyatt revenue management standards.
- Manage inventory issues and opportunities driven by demand an internal compression
- Monitor pickup of group blocks, inventory needs and cutoffs while managing group rooming list process and changes
- Setup and extend new rate codes in RMT (Rate Management Tool) including testing and deployment
- Set up Group and Transient booking codes/links
- Set-up and monitor all VIP reservations and arrivals including internal external requests
- Review reservations made daily for accuracy
- Attend required weekly meetings; present in meetings as needed on relevant topics
- Review travel agent commissions (Onyx/Navis/Expedia/Booking etc)
- Prepare and distribute daily pickup reports
- Manage parity scores utilizing Lighthouse and other corporate resources with the goal to maintain a 95-parity score
- Assist Director of revenue with weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports
- Publish weekly 14-day forecasts to assist operations team in planning & cost control
- Serve as liaison with Navis/Rezforce while managing Navis/Rezforce leads to insure revenue maximization.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Front Office or Reservations preferred
- Experience with Hyatt systems preferred – Reserve, Opera, Colleague Advantage, PRO
- Thorough working knowledge of GDS, reservations software and booking systems
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced, luxury environment.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

- Thompson Seattle colleagues begin accruing Vacation Time on their first day of service. At six months of service, colleagues are vested in the time they have been accruing. Full Time & Part Time Colleagues are eligible for vacation time.

Wage Information: Pay ranges are listed on each job posting individually.
Salaried managers: The starting salary for this position is $78,000.00, which is applicable for the first year of employment. The entire range for the position is $77,968.80 to $95,700.00. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, education and place of residence in the event the candidate will be working remotely.
