This position is responsible for the oversight of the hotel's general ledger operations and supports the hotel Controller. Additionally, thisperson will be responsible forefficiently runningthe Accounting department in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meetingguest and owner expectations. Other responsibilities will include the following :
- Prepare and review all journal vouchers, month-end reports and reconciliations
- Review preliminary financial statements with Controller
- Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist Controller with the presentation of these reports
- Assist Controller with supervising Accounting staffand the Information Technology functions of the hotel including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures,interviewing, training and evaluating performance of staff.
- Manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting and cash management
- Systems administration, G / L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings and fullP&L responsibility.
- Assist with managingand ensuring SOX compliance
- Assist Controller with completing the year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate inand respond to auditor requests to ensuretotal hotel compliance.
- Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement
- Assist Controller with special reporting and analysis projects

Hire Date Through Four Years – 10 Days or 80 hours
Full time, part time and on-call colleagues accrue and have the right to utilize sick and safe time according to Seattle’s Paid Sick and Safe Time Ordinance. As a Tier Three employer all colleagues accrue one (1) hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked starting on their hire date, however, these colleagues cannot use their accrued sick time until they have completed 90-days of employment with Hyatt
Full-time colleagues are eligible for holiday pay on their first day of employment. The paid holidays for eligible colleagues recognized by our hotel are : New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and 2 pre-approved days for Floating Holidays.

Salaried managers : The starting salary for this position is $83,000.00 which is applicable for the first year of employment. The entire range for the position is $77,968.80 to $106,000.00. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, and education.
