As Director of Subcontractor Procurement, you’ll be responsible for the overall strategy of our procurement efforts, managing market research, developing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, and leading the Subcontractor Procurement team. As Director of Subcontractor Procurement, you’ll be responsible for the overall strategy of our procurement efforts, managing market research, developing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, and leading the Subcontractor Procurement team. Your leadership will ensure that our projects are supported by reliable, high-quality subcontractors and suppliers, helping to drive successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor Subcontractor Procurement Managers and team members, fostering a high-performance environment.
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with business goals and project needs.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of labor and material pricing trends, exploring new markets for potential subcontractors and suppliers.
- Bid List Management: Develop and maintain robust bid lists for projects, ensuring diverse, qualified bidders for each scope of work.
- Subcontractor Vetting: Oversee the vetting process for subcontractors, including reference checks and prequalification management using ISQFT.
- Performance Reporting: Generate and distribute quarterly reports on subcontractor performance to key stakeholders.
- Issue Resolution: Assist in resolving project-related issues between subcontractors/suppliers and the company, ensuring effective problem-solving and maintaining strong relationships.
- Support Construction Management: Aid construction management teams in subcontractor replacement or supplementation, identifying cost-effective options.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 6 years in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and strong analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Attributes: Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience Leading Teams: Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
