Your Role as Quality Control Manager
Thompson Thrift Construction is seeking a Quality Control Manager. This role reports to the Director of Quality & Warranty. The position is responsible for managing the quality control inspector team and ensuring all projects are following Thompson Thrift Construction (TTC) standards. The position is based out of our Indianapolis or Terre Haute, Indiana. This position will require travel to construction job sites across the U.S.

The position is responsible for managing the quality control inspector team and ensuring all projects are following Thompson Thrift Construction (TTC) standards. The position is based out of our Indianapolis or Terre Haute, Indiana. This position will require travel to construction job sites across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage the Quality Control Team: Oversee daily operations, ensuring quality standards are understood, monitored, and corrected as necessary. Train QC staff and field teams on Thompson Thrift Construction quality standards, conducting on-site and office training sessions regularly.
- Monitor and Inspect Projects: Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with project documents, specifications, and company standards. Track and review project checklists, jobsite visitations, inspection reports, and third-party evaluations to ensure deficiencies are corrected.
- Address and Resolve Quality Issues: Ensure timely resolution of quality control observations, RFIs, and material compliance issues. Identify and track recurring issues to recommend necessary updates to construction drawings, scopes of work, or specifications.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with field staff, subcontractors, owners, and internal teams (QC/QA, Pre-construction, and property management) to interpret plans, clarify discrepancies, and maintain positive relationships.
- Analyze and Improve Processes: Perform trend analysis, provide feedback on plans and specifications, and contribute to continuous improvement in quality control processes.
Our Ideal Candidate for this Role
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field of study. Or an equivalent level of education and experience
- Experience: 4 years of construction process experience in progressive leadership positions
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of construction methods, ability to read and understand construction drawings/specifications, and proficiency with basic computer tools.
- Competencies: Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills. Must be a team player with excellent communication abilities and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
Schedule and Travel
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Travel Requirements: 20%
