What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher - Lift Truck position at Thompson Tractor Company?
The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting all branch Service Department personnel through detailed handling of a variety of administrative duties including handling incoming calls, producing quotations and estimates, opening and closing work orders, adjusting time on work orders, dispatching Field Service Technicians, assigning jobs to Shop Technicians, and other duties not specified.
- Handle incoming phone calls to the branch
- Produce quotations and estimates
- Take and deliver messages to branch personnel
- Effectively communicate with Service Department Personnel to address customer needs
- Assign jobs to Shop Technicians
- Dispatch Field Service Technicians
- Open and properly segment work orders applying correct codes and tax information
- Handle closing of work orders in a timely fashion
- Adjust service technician time when necessary
- Obtain Purchase Orders from customers as required
- Responsible for charging his/her time to work orders
- Fill in for supervisor when needed
Experience
Required- Prior clerical or administrative experience is desired. Experience and demonstrated skill using personal computers including Microsoft Word and Excel and basic typing skills are required for this position.
