Position Title: Trailer Salesperson
Department: Sales
Reports To: Sales Manager
Position Purpose:
The Trailer Salesperson will be responsible for selling a wide variety of trailers to customers, including flatbeds, dump trailers, enclosed trailers, and other specialized options. This role requires strong customer relationship management skills, product knowledge, and the ability to close sales effectively. The ideal candidate will work closely with potential and existing clients, helping them select the right trailer for their needs while ensuring exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, including fleet owners, transport companies, and individual buyers.
- Actively prospect for new customers, identifying sales opportunities in the trailer market.
- Assist customers in selecting trailers that best meet their needs, including explaining features, benefits, and options.
- Provide accurate product information, including pricing, specifications, financing options, and any available promotions or discounts.
- Prepare and present sales proposals and quotes to customers.
- Negotiate terms of sale and close deals in a timely manner.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction, offer after-sales support, and secure repeat business.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, trailer features, and competitor offerings.
- Work with the Service and Parts departments to ensure smooth delivery, servicing, and any additional customer needs.
- Attend trade shows and events to stay informed about industry developments and promote trailer products.
- Record all customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline progress in CRM software.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, ideally in trailer sales or related industries.
- Strong understanding of the trailer market, including different types of trailers and their uses.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling trailers or similar equipment (e.g., trucks, heavy machinery, or other transportation-related products).
- Familiarity with trailer upfitting, customization options, and industry regulations.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
- Knowledge of financing and leasing options for trailers.

- Timeliness and accuracy of quotes, sales proposals, and orders.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
