Thompson First Group is seeking a I&E Technician/Controls Engineer for a temporary to hire position for a local client in Clinton, NC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Electrical Equipment and Instrumentation technician must be able to perform the following duties (duties may include, but are not limited to the following):
- Analyzes the electrical control design of equipment, workstations, and processes.
- Anticipates and solves electrical/maintenance problems in a timely manner and identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Operates computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Ensures the proper working of all electrical and mechanical units and systems in the facility.
- Reviews the operation of the plant equipment and systems to minimize unforeseen downtime.
- Develops and designs complete electrical engineering documentation for new and existing equipment.
- Specifies design requirements for machine safety components, sensing systems, and input devices. Prepares technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and requirements.
- Designs, installs, and maintains electrical boards, electronic panels, and industrial furnaces for aluminum melting.
- Communicates directly with operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.\
- Acts as a technical resource for other departments.
- Demonstrates and implements expert knowledge of electrical design codes, including emergency shutdown and electrical distribution networks serving industrial facilities.
- Recommends and implements measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency from an electrical/maintenance perspective.
- Provides documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, and other specifications to inform others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Confers with engineers, vendors, and customers to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.
- Reports electrical/maintenance issues to production manager and other appropriate personal.
- Directs and coordinates manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
- Complies data and writes reports regarding existing or potential electrical engineering projects. Performs detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications.
- Complies with all company policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations while carrying out maintenance functions.
- Conducts employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
- Reports inconsistencies, failures & safety topics using designated forms.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience (with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (preferred) from an accredited institution of learning).

Salary : $70,000 - $90,600
