Industrial Diesel Mechanic Position at Thompson Pipe Group
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.

Job Summary
This role performs skilled work under general supervision. Maintains plant equipment, welds for repairs, and performs predictive maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in safety programs to ensure a safe working environment
- Repair and maintain air compressors, dryers, trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks
- Maintain job site equipment in good condition and report deficiencies to supervisor
- Perform required inspections, complete paperwork, and assume accountability
- Dismantle equipment to access defective parts using hoists
- Follow OSHA and HAZMAT rules and regulations
- Take proactive steps to improve plant equipment and processes
- Follow standard safety procedures, correct safety hazards, and report them to supervision as necessary
Requirements
- Understand basic electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics
- Properly use tools like electrical meters, hydraulic gauges, and lifting equipment
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Valid Drivers license and clean driving record
- Welding/fabrication experience
- Able to safely work around heavy equipment/object
- Able to measure accurately with calipers, feeler gauges, and tape measures
Experience
- Relevant: 3 years of industrial maintenance experience (Preferred)
- Manufacturing environment: 3 years (Preferred)
- Forklift Driving: 3 years (Preferred)
- Repairing Forklifts weighing 5,000lbs-80,000lbs
- Repairs Heavy Diesel Equipment
- Welding: 3 years (Preferred)
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and exposed to heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, confined spaces, elevated areas, dirt
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. occasionally*
- Must be able to sit for extended periods
- Must be able to work on feet for extended periods*
