Thomson Law is seeking an attorney with a strong interest in estate planning, probate, real estate, and family law to join our practice and establish a stronger presence in our Georgetown office. In addition, our practice also provides representation for civil litigation business formation, and business transactions. This is a unique opportunity to serve the counties surrounding Georgetown, Ohio—a rural community where your legal expertise can make a meaningful impact. While we prefer an experienced attorney, we are open to hiring a new graduate who demonstrates the right personality and a genuine desire to serve our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal services in estate planning and probate, including drafting wills, trusts, and managing estate administration.
- Advise clients on family law matters, ensuring sensitive handling of complex and personal issues.
- Assist with business formation and commercial transactions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop integrated legal strategies across practice areas.
- Represent clients in court and during negotiations, ensuring excellent client service and clear communication.
- Contribute to the growth of our practice in a rural setting by engaging in community outreach and client relationship building.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the Ohio Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).
- Admission to the Kentucky Bar is a plus
- Demonstrable interest and/or experience in estate planning and probate law.
- Familiarity with family law and business formation and business transactions is a plus.
- Strong legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a commitment to practical, client-centered service.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a rural community setting.
- Experienced candidates are preferred; however, recent law school graduates with strong potential and the right personality are encouraged to apply.
