THOR Solutions is looking for a highly motivated ShipConstructor Administrator to support the management and maintenance of the ShipConstructor software environment. This position ensures data integrity, optimizes workflows, and provides technical support to the engineering and design teams. The Administrator will manage product hierarchies, revisions, drawing management, and task management within ShipConstructor, contributing to efficient and accurate ship design and construction.Typical Responsibilities:
- System Administration and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain ShipConstructor software, including updates and patches. Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ShipConstructor. Perform regular system backups and data recovery
- Product Hierarchy and Data Management: Develop and maintain the ShipConstructor product hierarchy and structure. Ensure data consistency and integrity across all projects. Manage material databases, part libraries, and standard parts. Implement and enforce data management standards and procedures
- Revision Control and Change Management: Manage revision control processes for 3D models, drawings, and documentation. Implement and maintain change management procedures. Track and document all revisions and changes. Ensure accurate and timely distribution of revised documents
- Drawing Management: Develop and maintain drawing templates and standards. Manage drawing generation, plotting, and distribution. Ensure compliance with drawing standards and specifications. Implement and maintain drawing management workflows
- Task Management: Utilize ShipConstructor's task management tools to assign, track, and manage engineering tasks. Monitor project progress and identify potential bottlenecks. Generate reports on task status and project performance. Assist in optimizing project workflows
- Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to ShipConstructor users. Develop and maintain user documentation and training materials. Stay up-to-date on ShipConstructor updates and new features. Act as a liaison between the engineering team and the software vendor
- Workflow Optimization: Analyze existing workflows and identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement new workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity. Automate repetitive tasks and processes. Document and standardize best practices
- Highschool diploma/GED equivalent.
- An ideal candidate will possess a technical diploma, professional certification, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant design or modeling discipline
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of proven experience as a ShipConstructor Administrator or similar role supporting Navy, Coast Guard, or commercial shipyards
- Strong understanding of ship design and construction processes
- Proficiency in ShipConstructor software and its modules
- Experience with 3D modeling and CAD software
- Knowledge of database management and data integrity principles
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
