Thorburn Associates provides integrated collaborative designs for both new construction and renovations.Job Summary:We are seeking a full-time Business Development Associate to join our team. To be considered for this role, you must be located in one of the following areas: Raleigh-Durham, NC; Charlotte, NC; or Orlando, FL. The role requires meeting with potential clients and attending industry events within the assigned region and may include some travel to other locations as needed.As the initial point of contact for our team, you will establish relationships between our firm and potential clients, ensuring a positive and professional first impression. You will provide information about our services, make tailored recommendations, and nurture these relationships. Working closely with the Business Development team, you will assist in creating proposals and marketing materials for prospective clients, as well as manage contacts and opportunities in the company's CRM system.This role is ideal for individuals who thrive on networking, possess a technical mindset, are self-motivated, and demonstrate strong time management skills.Primary Responsibilities:Develop and maintain long-term relationships with prospects.Proactively identify business opportunities to support the growth of the RDU office.Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions, representing the company professionally.Prepare compelling proposals and marketing materials tailored to client needs.Utilize CRM systems to track development activities and maintain accurate records.Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients.Qualifications:Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic, with excellent communication and organizational skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage with clients and build lasting professional relationships.Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems is a plus.Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.Professional experience in the AEC industry strongly preferredBenefits: Comprehensive benefits package starting on day one Fully paid medical insurance Dental and Vision coverage Short-term disability insurance Life insurance Simple IRA with 3% employer match Paid time off and holidaysLocation and Hours: Associates in Raleigh-Durham will be based in our Morrisville office with the option of a hybrid work arrangement, while associates in Charlotte and Orlando will work from home. Standard office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00am-5:30pm and Friday from 8:00am-12:00pm Eastern Time. Attendance at events outside regular business hours may be required. To qualify for work from home employees must have a dedicated distraction free work environment and reliable high-speed internet.
