We are currently seeking a Full-time Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator. This will be a 12-hour shift (8pm-8am) with every other weekend rotation. The ideal Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator candidate will have experience with psychiatric assessments, insurance verification and pre-authorization, patient intake processes, and crisis intervention. Qualified candidates must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and should be able to remain calm and execute proper judgement under pressure. Additionally, successful candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively and quickly build rapport with patients in the midst of a mental health crisis while also stabilizing them when necessary.

The duties of the Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Pre-screen patients in psychiatric crisis
- Assist in coordinating intake of psychiatric patients
- Verify patient’s insurance eligibility
- Obtain insurance prior authorization for inpatient stay
- Complete legal documents for psychiatric admission
- Utilize intervention strategies through clinical assessments
- Formulate a plan of care based on the psychosocial needs of patients
- Manage all relevant documentation appropriately
- Recommend community referrals as needed
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge on insurance verification required
- Knowledge on patient intake process and experience is preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in crisis intervention
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field required
- LPC/LSW/LCPC preferred
