We are seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist (7:00 pm. - 7:00 am.) to work in our inpatient units. The ideal Nurse Practitioner candidate will have previous experience working in an inpatient and outpatient settings or in emergency medicine. They should be comfortable managing varying levels of acuity in multiple patient care plans at one time and also should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment.

The duties of the Nurse Practitioner include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direct primary health care to patients in our inpatient and outpatient units or in the Emergency Department in collaboration with physicians to include identification, management, and/or referral of health problems
- Conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develop patient care plans within clinical nursing practice and medical care protocols
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the date in the patient's record
- Screen patients to determine the need for hospital admission, making referrals to other disciplines as indicated, write progress notes
- Prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings
- Obtain psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assume responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients
Job Requirements:
- At least 3 years of Emergency Department or Critical Care experience
- Must be proficient in oral intubation and central line placement
- Nurse Practitioner Program and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
- The employee shall meet the requirements of the State of Illinois Board of Medical Examiners; and be licensed to practice medicine without restrictions within the State of Illinois
- Current licensure as an NP to practice in the State of Illinois
- Current DEA certification
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification
- Must exemplify interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to deal with people professionally in a variety of situations
- Must be willing to work flexible scheduling needs and be willing to accommodate physicians schedule
- Must be willing to travel between both locations
- Must be willing to work evening hours, holidays and weekends if necessary
Shifts : 7:00 pm. - 7:00 am.
Schedule : Every other weekend
