Qualifications:
1. State of MI teacher certification with an endorsement in ASD
2. CPI training preferred
3. Have the ability to work positively with students, teachers and parents
4. Excellent communication skills
5. Experience with secondary students preferred
6. Ability to facilitate an IEP and complete necessary paperwork
7. Willingness to work as part of a team of professionals
8. Possess an understanding of the state and federal special education rules and regulations
Responsibilities:
1. Instruct students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in academic subjects and social interaction skills.
2. Develop instructional objectives for each student.
3. Evaluate the progress of students.
4. Assess individual students to determine level of functioning and appropriate curricular areas.
5. Assume responsibility to transport self to assigned work sites and maintain regular and predictable attendance.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
